I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
